- On Line double conversion technology: the load is constantly fed by the inverter, which regenerates the output voltage, ensuring continuity and stability of voltage and frequency, regardless of the input mains.
- Wide range input voltage: ensuring normal operation without using the battery, including during wide fluctuation from the generator. Battery life is therefore extended leaving it fully available for lengthy blackout conditions.
- Perfect sine-wave output: the sinusoidal output waveform ensures compatibility with all loads; both IT and other types, including the most sophisticated ones like Green PC's and equipment with phase-shifted input (e.g. graphic stations, professional servers, etc.).
- Switching rectifier with sinusoidal absorption: the Star UPS absorbs from the generator supply sinusoidally, without creating current harmonics that could disturb other connected loads.
- High input power factor (PFC, Power Factor Corrector): the Star 2000 UPS acts as a phase-shift group, ensuring energy savings and compatibility with the electricity supplier's specifications.
- Filters to EN55022 standard: grant high-level immunity and guarantee compliance with the electromagnetic compatibility limits, enabling the Star 2000 UPS to be installed in any operating environment.
- Pass-through neutral: does not modify the neutral arrangements when the UPS is installed. No changes are needed for retrofitting.
- Digital control of all functions: cuts down on use of the discrete electronic components, thus increasing reliability and guaranteeing considerable stability and duration in time of the electrical characteristics.
- Maximum battery life: the recharge system has been designed to guarantee the battery maximum life. A highly precise control of the initial recharge current provides the battery the optimal charge amount.
- Indication of back-up time: thanks to the computing power of the DSP, a precise indication is provided of the remaining back up expressed as a percentage, in function of the load applied. Also present is a protection against slow discharge to avoid damage to the batteries.
- Battery test: the battery test is performed completely automatically during important battery discharges, using battery efficiency check algorithm.
- Battery expansion: STAR 2000 has a setting for connection of additional battery compartments to give increased back up in numerous configurations.
- Automatic by-pass: in the event of an overload or internal failure, the consumers are still powered by the mains through the by-pass circuit which comes on automatically and immediately.
- High efficiency: the high frequency technology, the switching power supply and digital control ensure that power consumption is minimal.
- Selective protection in cases of short-circuit: the UPS distinguishes between a short-circuit and an overload, thus avoiding switching to the By-pass in the case of a short-circuit, which would cause the equipment's protections to trigger.
- ECO MODE: means two technologies in one - "ON LINE and ECO MODE". By selecting the ECO MODE form of operation, you can feed less sensitive consumers while saving energy. ECO MODE can either be selected manually or programmed through the software.
For example, select ECO MODE for nighttime operation of the UPS to power emergency lighting from the mains (non-sensitive consumers) and ON LINE in the daytime to power the more critical consumers (EDP centre).
