What is it?
An uninterruptible power supply system for marine and harsh environments.
What does it do?
It supplies power within precise limits, whatever the quality of the supply. Also it has incorporated distribution circuits to supply customers power requirements.
What is special about it?
Unlike commercial grade UPS systems, this particular series is designed to fully comply and work from a generator source and will if required convert incompatible shore supplies. It can also supply power to customer's loads, as a cold start from batteries, in the absence of main supplies.
Where would it be used?
It would be used wherever a generator is found i.e. marine and offshore applications.
Who should want it?
Primarily vessels and commercial shipping. It can also be supplied to safety critical applications i.e. oil rigs, hospitals, fire stations.
How does it work?
It's an on-line double conversion UPS System which provides a stable supply of power by means of a complex microprocessor. This is achieved by digital signal processing, and controls the electrical values directly, providing precision and stability of the output power.
What is unique about the Star?
The input supply is power factor corrected, combined with high efficiency. This will provide power in autonomy of 30 minutes. Uniquely designed to comply with the requirements of shipping standards, i.e. Lloyds, DNV, DEF Stan 61-5, etc. Customers output distribution, custom warning alarms, and serial data links for remote communication and interrogation of operating conditions. This is supplied in a self-contained, lockable cubicle which has been specifically designed for harsh environments.
