Star 2000 Range UPS Operation
STAR 2000 Range DSP performs continuous and detailed analysis of the generator supply line via a digital controller. An internal converter (boost) on the input transforms the AC voltage into a constant DC voltage, which is independent of any deformities associated with a generator supply line and has a suitable value for the inverter, which in turn transforms it into a perfect and stable 230V sine wave (double conversion).

If a blackout occurs, it is detected immediately by the microprocessor, which activates the DC-DC Converter, which has the same role as the boost and takes its place in providing an uninterrupted supply of power to the inverter and the load. It draws its energy from the battery. The load is accordingly protected and fed optimally in all situations and under all generator conditions. The energy needed for emergency operation is stored in a series of accumulators housed inside the equipment.

STAR 2000 Range DSP recharges the battery and keeps it charged fully automatically. These batteries are hermetically sealed and maintenance-free. The entire system is constantly monitored by a microcontroller, which performs an accurate diagnostic, making STAR 2000 Range DSP intelligent, interactive and communicative.

DSP - The Digital Motor
The most important requirements for the power supply of a critical installation, such as a computer-processing center or electro medical instrumentation, are reliability, intelligence, compactness and precision. STAR 2000 Range DSP guarantees you all of these with DSP.

The DSP (Digital Signal Processing) is an extremely powerful microprocessor that can execute very complex operations at a speed 7 times greater than that of ordinary microprocessors.

Advantages of DSP include:

  • High reliability and low dimensions: with the DSP, the number of electronic components is halved, thereby reducing dimensions and failure probability and increasing reliability.
  • Precision: the DSP controls the electrical values directly (output voltage, frequency and current), guaranteeing extreme precision and stability of the output voltage and avoidance of disturbance due to highly variable and distorting loads (overloads, high overvoltages, as well as other transient and unforeseeable phenomena).
  • Interactive Communication: the DSP controls the UPS in its entirety and outputs on a serial interface all the reports needed for supervision, for automatic shut-down of servers, for communication on a LAN network, the Internet and Intranet, and for IT maintenance which is carried out without switching the equipment off.
